Use FryAway Pan Fry when pan frying with up to 2 cups / 0.5 liter of oil. FryAway Pan Fry is for those times you are frying smaller batches or cooking with smaller quantities of oil.
We recommend FryAway Deep Fry when deep frying with larger amounts of oil -- up to 8 cups / 2 liters.
FryAway Super Fry is for you no matter how you fry. Our best value comes with a scoop so you can decide how much FryAway to use based on how much oil you need to discard. 1 scoop solidifies 1 cup of oil for a total of 24 cups of oil solidified per package.
-
FryAway works well on all types of pans including stainless steel and cast iron.
-
Safety first! Turn off the heat source and remove the food from the oil. Now you're ready to use FryAway.
- Sprinkle FryAway into HOT oil and stir to dissolve completely. Ensure oil is at least 170°F (77°C)
2) Allow the oil to cool down and harden.
3) Scoop and toss the hardened oil in the trash, with organic waste, or compost.
Remember: once you use FryAway, you cannot reuse the oil.

1) Turned off the heat on the stove/deep fryer
2) Removed food from the oil
3) Will not be reusing the oil to cook food

FryAway is a great way to clean up bacon fat and other animal fats. FryAway Pan Fry is the best product for smaller amounts of oil. One packet of Pan Fry will solidify up to 2 cups of oil. For a small amount of bacon/animal fat, we recommend starting with 1/4 packet. A little goes a long way! Remember to stir FryAway powder in while the oil is still HOT.
-
With FryAway, cooking oil will harden once it cools to a temperature of 100 degrees F / 38 degrees celsius. How quickly the oil soldifies depends on the amount of oil and ambient temperature. Larger amounts of hot oil will naturally take longer, up to several hours, to solidifiy, whereas small amounts of oil can be ready to toss within 20 minutes.
-
Once FryAway has been mixed into the oil, the faster it reaches room temperature, the faster it will solidify. For instance, placing the pan of oil near a window on a cool day, will speed up the process.
-
If the oil is not hardening, there may be too much oil for the amount of FryAway added in. Reheat the oil to at least 170 degrees F and add more FryAway powder to set. Measurements are as follows:
1 packet of FryAway Pan Fry = up to 2 cups / 0.5 liter of oil,
1 packet of FryAway Deep Fry = up to 8 cups / 2 liters of oil
1 scoop of FryAway Super Fry = 1 cup of oil
-
Don't panic! While rare, this can happen when too much FryAway is used for the amount of oil. FryAway is made of natural oils. Simply heat up the pan to loosen the oil and safely remove it without damaging your pan. Please do not scrape hardened oil without following these instructions.
-
FryAway is compostable, but the amount of solidified oil will determine the best way to compost. Small amounts of oil can be composted at home, where as most compost facilities will accept larger amounts of oil solidified with FryAway. Please contact your local facility to confirm.
-
Used cooking oil is usually discarded in a container or poured down the drain.
A plastic container can take over 450 years to decompose in a landfill. FryAway eliminates the need to throw away oil in a container that could have otherwise been recycled and the solidified oil can also be composted so it doesn't end up in a landfill at all!
When oil gets poured down the drain, even when chased with hot water and dish soap, it eventually clogs pipes, sewers and creates overflows that contaminate our water resources.
Oil solidified with FryAway makes cleanup a breeze and can be tossed away with organic waste or composted. No more messy spills, containers or clogged pipes!
-
Once frozen oil is removed it will start to melt and create an oily liquid mess wherever it was disposed of.
-
It is recommended to store FryAway in a cool, dark area away from heat and moisture.
